Blog feature to show AI-assisted posts

A confession: one or two of my recent posts were AI-assisted.

I don’t keep this blog very updated, but I do hang around a few forums, and the sentiment about AI writing there is pretty clear. If a human didn’t write it, why bother reading it? Which, honestly, is fair :D.

Here’s my problem though. Using AI is a nice way for me to blog more frequently, both for myself and for my non-existent readers. But I don’t want to misrepresent what I’m doing either. So I figured I’d use AI to help me be honest about using AI.

I used Fable 5 to add a feature to this blog that tags the AI-assisted posts. That part is just a little badge. The more interesting part is the toggle: on any post where AI helped, you can now see all the versions. My original messy notes, the first AI draft, and my edited final version (if any). The prompt that generates the drafts is public too, over at how I write. Posts without the badge were written entirely by hand.

THis will probably end up being my TLDR posts. I was inspired by Simon W. to keep a log of little things I learn, but I’m pretty inconsistent about it. Sometimes I just find something, quickly prompt my AI to turn it into a TLDR, and get something published. I put these in a personal knowledgebase now, but having a second place is never a bad idea.

That’s pretty much it. If you see the badge, you can check my work. If you don’t, it was all me.

I personally think it’s a cool feature!

Thanks for reading :D
